eGroup’s Daniel Navarro, Inside Sales, took on Guiseppe’s hot chicken wing eating challenge last night in Mt. Pleasant, SC–and lived to tell his story.
The rules: Daniel had to eat 7 chicken wings, smothered in a sauce that uses the infamous “bhut jolokia” pepper, in 10 minutes. (The bhut jolokia-also known variously by other names in its native region- is a chili pepper generally recognized as the hottest in the world. The pepper is often called the ghost chili by Western media.) With only a small cocktail napkin to attempt to wipe the fiery sauce from his face and hands during the feat, and nothing to drink, he then had to sit for an additional 5 minutes after consuming the wings to endure the pain before the wait staff could come to his rescue with milk and cold rags.
