Do you have a passion for VMware Solutions and Azure Infrastructure Services, with a desire to put those together? eGroup is looking for a seasoned and experienced Technologist to join our team and help eGroup develop an Azure VMware Solution practice. This role will help develop, operate and lead the delivery of VMware and Azure solutions to eGroup customers nationwide as part of a dynamic and growing Delivery Team.
The ideal candidate will have broad technical “hands-on” experience with on-prem VMware architecture and familiarity with Azure Cloud solutions which will be rapidly developed through training and certification. Experience working in pre-sales Solutions Engineering, as well as leading and participating in architecture workshops, running strategy and discovery workshops, and conducting client meetings is desired.
Position responsibilities include:
Plan, architect and perform infrastructure deployments and migrations across eGroup’s customer base, leveraging Azure VMware Solution for both Cloud Migrations and Disaster Recovery solutions.
Partners with customers, sales, and engineering teams to design, demonstrate and deploy AVS architectures that address customer business problems.
Work with Solutions Engineering teams to provide subject matter expertise and to develop repeatable materials including solution guides, statement of work, and other artifacts.
Work directly with customer application, infrastructure, and security stakeholders to define requirements, strategy, and processes for successful design, deployment & migrations.
Assist with growing a practice area in both revenue and headcount by delivering Data Center and Azure solutions, focused on AVS and Microsoft Azure consumption.
Developing relationships with strategic prospects and creatively engaging them in differentiated, value-added conversations that convert to opportunities and profitable wins.
Designing and positioning services and technology solutions that draw upon the full scope of eGroup’s capabilities to address the business and technical needs of prospects and customers.

Hands-on Architecture/Engineering experience and expertise in “Azure VMware Solution” (AVS), and experience in IaaS and PaaS solutions
Relevant experience in architecting and designing data center and cloud infrastructures using VMware and Microsoft technologies
Knowledge and implementation experience in designing and developing solutions using VMware’s Core Cloud Infrastructure
VMware vSphere 6.0 and above
VMware NSX-T network virtualization technologies
NSX edge services (DNS, DHCP, Gateway Firewall, Distributed Firewall)
NSX implementation
NSX migration from vlan or NSX-v
VMware vSAN
VMware HCX Advanced & Enterprise
Experience with on-premises-to-Cloud or cloud-to-cloud migrations with VMware HCX
Experience with, or a desire to learn, relevant Azure technologies like:
Azure ExpressRoute and Azure VPN
Azure Virtual WAN and Azure Route Server
Azure networking
Familiarity with security & compliance standards across a variety of enterprise IT landscapes.
Experience with Azure Hosting or Infrastructure background and public cloud highly desired.
A good understanding of datacenter networking fabric topologies and common architectures deployed, both Layer 2 and Layer 3 based is highly desired
Strong presentation, influencing and communication skills
Participating as an implementation lead, in projects requiring hands-on technical expertise, project leadership experience, and client management skills
Prior work experience in consulting/architecture
This is mostly a remote “work from anywhere” role, however candidate must be willing to work from home, work from the office, travel with periodic overnight stays (only as needed) or wherever is most appropriate to achieve customer success
