How Is It Different From Intune?

The Microsoft Intune Suite is a collection of five additional capabilities on top of what Microsoft Intune Plan 2 has to offer. In this post, I’ll detail what those capabilities are and what benefits they deliver compared to the current Intune capabilities. At the conclusion, we will try to simplify the pricing logic and lay out an approach for planning, budgeting, and putting your Microsoft 365 E5 plus Suite capabilities to great use.

Core Capabilities of Microsoft Intune Suite

Advanced Endpoint Analytics – Data-driven insights to address endpoint performance issues with machine learning and anomaly detection.

Endpoint Privilege Management – Allows standard users to perform tasks normally done by your service desk securely.

Remote Help – Secure and easy-to-use remote assistance from the cloud.

Enterprise Application Management – Proactively, simply, and securely deploy and manage apps. Enterprise application catalog of first- and third-party applications.

Microsoft Cloud PKI – Manage the certificate lifecycle directly where you manage devices in Intune. Simplify the creation, renewal, and revocation of certificates from the Intune portal.

How Are These Features Beneficial to My Business?

Advanced Endpoint Analytics – Gain insights and benchmarks into the performance of your devices, enabling you to be proactive in ensuring the end-user experience is optimal for a productive experience. See how devices are performing compared to each other.

Endpoint Privilege Management – Potentially the best part of the Intune Suite. With EPM, you can allow the automatic, user-confirmed, or support-assisted elevation of permissions to allow users to securely update applications and plug-ins without giving away too many administrative rights. Solving the age-old challenge of “lock it down” that creates a slow and intense service desk process to updating users’ applications.

Remote Help – Consolidates third-party support solutions into the same portal in which you are managing devices. Reduce costs and increase support experience.

Enterprise Application Management – Prepackaged and preconfigured applications that can be deployed or self-serviced without wrapping, install commands, etc. that increase complexity. With a focus on streamlining self-service, you also gain the benefits of integration with security tools that enable advanced application specific policies.

Microsoft Cloud PKI – Simplify your certificate management and drive more consistency in the creation, renewal, and revoking of certificates. Reduce unplanned downtime due to certificate complexity while increasing security by tying the certificate process into security capabilities such as Entra ID Conditional Access and Defender.

How Does Intune Suite Vary from Intune (Plan 1 and Plan 2)?

We acknowledge that the licensing can be confusing, but is designed to help organizations get the right fit for the technologies they need while saving on costs and complexity through bundlingHere is how Intune Suite is priced (all MSRP as of this writing).

Unlike other Microsoft bundles that strictly build on top of each other, Intune Suite includes all Intune Plan 2 features in its price, and they don’t need to be purchased separately. Intune Plan 1 is the base requirement, and you can add on Intune Plan 2 OR Intune SuiteThis makes the full cost of Intune Suite $18 per user, per Month (PUPM).

Choosing the Right Microsoft 365 Packages and Solutions That Are Right For Your Business

My guidance here is the same as it was on my previous post about the Microsoft Entra Suite “It depends” is the honest answer anyone should give you at the start of the conversationBuilding on our Microsoft 365 E5 post, including Intune Suite must be evaluated based on the needs of the business, current solutions in place, and ability to implement new technology once procuredIt should be part of a planning and roadmap exercise to ensure the successful implementation of zero trust across the full Microsoft security platform and any third-party solutions you have in place.

Don’t Leave Incentives on the Table

There are incentives in the form of discounts, implementation support, educational workshops, and concierge guidance available for businesses of all sizesInclude those in your planning and ensure you get the maximum value out of your planned investments.

Microsoft 365 Roadmap

The Microsoft 365 Roadmap is an active workshop designed to support businesses looking to understand how an investment in Microsoft 365 solutions can increase productivity, security, and management time for their end users. It’s perfect for those looking to get the right fit for their Microsoft licensing while also ensuring they get the greatest return on capabilities procured.

The outcomes of the Microsoft 365 Roadmap are:

  • Microsoft 365 licensing plan
  • Productivity, security, and compliance solution GAP analysis
  • Microsoft 365 solution implementation plans and budgets
  • Third-party solution overlap and consolidation guidance
  • 3YR total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Available Microsoft and licensing provider incentives

Timing: The ideal time to execute a Microsoft 365 Roadmap is 30-180 days prior to Microsoft renewal or a planned licensing changeMicrosoft incentives may be available for qualified customers. With a time commitment of 20 hours across 2-3 weeks, you can efficiently and effectively plan the right fit for your business.
